How to count days between two dates
- Pick a start date and an end date (the order doesn't matter).
- Turn on Include the end date if both the first and the last day should count — for leave, hotel nights versus days, rent or notice periods.
- Read the total days, the breakdown in years, months and days, weeks, and working days (Monday to Friday).
Example: from 26 January 2026 to 15 August 2026 is 201 days, of which 145 are weekdays. Counting both days gives 202.
Adding or subtracting days
Switch to Add / subtract to find a date in the future or the past: a 90-day notice period, a 45-day return window, an EMI due date or a visa expiry.
Months are added as calendar months. If the day doesn't exist in the target month it moves to the month's last day — 31 January + 1 month = 28 February (29 in a leap year).
Working days
Working days count Monday to Friday and skip Saturdays and Sundays. Public holidays are not removed, because they differ by state and by employer — subtract them yourself for an exact business-day count. Banks also close on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.

A year is a leap year if it divides by 4 — except century years, which must divide by 400. So 2000 was a leap year but 2100 will not be.
